Education Processes

Bahá’í educational processes like those propelled by the courses of the Ruhi Institute seek to foster creativity, to lead the student to discover things for themselves, to create a joyful and disciplined atmosphere, and to carry out acts of service. Beyond this they aim to advance participants’ understanding so that they can build capacity. Collaborators in Bahá’í educational processes will often explore questions, such as:
- “What are the powers of my soul?”
- “What is the relationship between my education and service to others?”
- “How can I come to know and worship God?”
- “How can I apply spiritual principles in my life and in the life of my community?”
- “How does Bahá’u’lláh’s Revelation bring about individual and collective transformation?”
In light of these questions participants who are inspired to embark on a path of service in their neighborhood may seek to:
(1) Respond to the spiritual aspirations of children in their community,
(2) Channel the emerging powers of junior youth,
(3) Shape a pattern of life known for its devotional character,
(4) Visit friends in their homes to engage in meaningful and distinctive conversation, and
(5) Explore, in the context of study circles, open to all, the application of Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings to our individual and collective lives.

“Bend your minds and wills to the education of the peoples and kindreds of the earth, that haply the dissensions that divide it may, through the power of the Most Great Name, be blotted out from its face, and all mankind become the upholders of one order, and the inhabitants of one City.”
