Longing: Stories of Racial Healing | Phyllis & Gene Unterschuetz
June 6 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Conversations of the Heart – Exploring Race Unity and Oneness
In this interactive presentation, Phyllis and Gene will share anecdotes from their book Longing: Stories of Racial Healing, which describes their experiences living in an RV for 15 years and traveling around the country giving talks about the elimination of racial prejudice. These true stories illustrate their personal journey of discovering how they have been conditioned as white Americans and their struggle to free their minds and hearts from that conditioning.
Conversations of the Heart is an online weekend workshop series in collaboration between the Bahá’í Publishing Trust and Green Acre.
About the Bahá’í Calendar and Holy Days
The Baha’i Faith has its own calendar, called the Badí’ Calendar. It is a solar calendar consisting of 19 months of 19 days each (361 days), plus “Intercalary Days” (four in ordinary years and five in leap years) to adjust the calendar to the solar year. The days and months are named after the attributes of God. The Nineteen Day Feast, the primary community gathering for Baha’is in each town and city, is held on the first day of each Baha’i month. Eleven Holy Days mark significant events in Baha’i history.
