John Hatcher: Wednesday night discussions about the Bahá’í Faith

September 9 @ 8:00 pm

John Hatcher: Wednesday night discussions about the Bahá’í Faith beginning August 19th starting at 8:00 pm EST. These sessions will consist of an introductory talk, followed by Q & A and general discussion…

The first several sessions will focus on basic information about the Bahá’í Faith and the concepts of progressive revelation and human history. As sessions progress, we will gradually delve ever more deeply into the Bahá’í Writings themselves, as well as the Bahá’í administrative order and the Bahá’í vision of how humankind can best navigate the often troublesome and sometimes perilous trials we are facing during this critical time of transition to what Bahá’ís believe will ultimately be the emergence of a world peace secured by a global federation of governments. Later, we will discuss some of the material included in the sequence of books I have written on Bahá’í theology and philosophy that are listed on my website. If you have any questions, please use the contact form on the website johnshatcher.com

About the Bahá’í Calendar and Holy Days

The Baha’i Faith has its own calendar, called the Badí’ Calendar. It is a solar calendar consisting of 19 months of 19 days each (361 days), plus “Intercalary Days” (four in ordinary years and five in leap years) to adjust the calendar to the solar year. The days and months are named after the attributes of God. The Nineteen Day Feast, the primary community gathering for Baha’is in each town and city, is held on the first day of each Baha’i month. Eleven Holy Days mark significant events in Baha’i history.
