Bicentenary Events

October 26 @ 7:00 am - October 30 @ 7:00 pm

The Bahá’í Faith was founded by two Divine Educators, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh, Who lived during the 1800s in Persia. Annual celebrations of Their births are observed on two consecutive days, the “Twin Holy Birthdays.”

October 2019 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the Báb, the forerunner and herald of the Bahá’í Faith, whose dramatic ministry paved the way for the appearance of  Bahá’u’lláh, God’s Messenger for this Day. Bahá’ís around the globe are joyously celebrating these special days.

About the Bahá’í Calendar and Holy Days

The Baha’i Faith has its own calendar, called the Badí’ Calendar. It is a solar calendar consisting of 19 months of 19 days each (361 days), plus “Intercalary Days” (four in ordinary years and five in leap years) to adjust the calendar to the solar year. The days and months are named after the attributes of God. The Nineteen Day Feast, the primary community gathering for Baha’is in each town and city, is held on the first day of each Baha’i month. Eleven Holy Days mark significant events in Baha’i history.
