Baha'i representative attends Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service

A representative of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United States was among the group of religious leaders invited to attend the Fifty-Sixth Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral on January 21, 2009.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, as well as former president Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton attended the worship service.

The devotional selections of the multi-denominational service emphasized justice, faith and diversity.  Ms. Kit Bigelow, director of external affairs, attended on behalf of the National Spiritual Assembly.
