What is religion? Find out through a three-month online course of the same name at the Wilmette Institute.
Starting Aug. 15, “What Is Religion?” examines concepts of religion, the Baha'i concept of progressive revelation; understandings of the Ultimate, or God; experiences of ultimate reality, ritual and doctrine; and the future of religion. The course also will explore the Baha'i perspective of religion in light of the perspectives taken by religious scholars, Christianity and Islam.
Tuition is $150; $120 for seniors and full-time university students (full time). Participants may register online, or contact the Institute at 877-945-6388 or info@wilmetteinstitute.org.
There are many resources for learning about the Baha'i Faith free of charge, such as joining a Baha'i study circle and exploring online resources. The Wilmette Institute provides in-depth e-learning courses that can be completed at introductory, intermediate (undergraduate), or advanced (graduate) levels of rigor. At the intermediate level, some students have received college credit for their Wilmette Institute course work.
The Wilmette Institute is an educational agency of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United States and the principal worldwide source of e-learning courses on the Baha'i Faith.
