Green Acre Baha'i School February 2008 eNewsletter

Dear Green Acre Friends,

February is a great month to come to Green Acre! We are repeating our most successful special children's program with an accompanying adult program on the first weekend, now filled to capacity with a waiting list. During Black History Month, join us for a reflection on the unique spiritual qualities which African American Baha'is can further develop and contribute to the expansion and consolidation of the Faith. And, on the fourth weekend, married couples will have a special opportunity to reflect on the joys and challenges of Baha'i marriage and spend quality time together. Come and encourage each other, have fun together, and recharge your batteries for the important work of teaching and building strong Baha'i communities back home. See you soon!

Warmest Baha'i love,

Jim and Jeannine Sacco

"There is no time to lose. There is no room left for vacillation." In order to bring the Word of God to the masses, the Lord of the Age has called people of African descent to provide spiritual leadership in the creation of a new civilization. This worldwide redemption requires arming the servant with his God-given abilities - not only knowledge but also insight and spiritual weaponry necessary "to conquer these regions." To do this effectively, the Day Finders Conference will use the arts and experiential learning to take participants of African descent on a journey of self-reflection deep into the "pupil of the eye" in the pursuit of healing, transformation and understanding of the Five Year Plan. This is an urgent call to action. Are you ready for a revolution?

February 22-24: If You're Happy, I'm Happy: a Retreat for Married Couples
Presenters: Jan and Felix Mauras
Give
yourselves a weekend to refresh and gladden your marriage. Reflect, relax, and enjoy. Reflect on the virtues that enhance your relationship. Relax with one another and find the space to listen, perhaps in new ways. Enjoy the fellowship of other couples exploring what it means to "abide by the will of God."
Jan and Felix are certified Virtues Project ™ Master Facilitators. Felix is a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) at the Upper Manhattan Mental Health Center in Harlem. As a member of the New York City Spiritual Assembly for ten years, Jan helped to establish its Marriage Task Force and subsequently provided workshops to other Baha'i communities seeking to replicate the model. Jan and Felix now serve on the Spiritual Assembly of Yonkers, NY.
