In the future, God willing, Green Acre shall become a great center, the cause of the unity of the world of humanity, the cause of uniting hearts and binding together the East and the West. This is my hope. (Abdu'l-Baha, 1912)

Study the rich history of this Sacred Institution and its development into a world wide network of Trustees and Representatives. Enrich your understanding and knowledge of this world-embracing law – the Law which holds the promise of establishing firmness in the covenant, of establishing prosperity in the lives of individuals, of erecting the banner of economic justice and eliminating the extremes of wealth and poverty in the world.

Special Classes for Children Ages 5-14! Children and Junior Youth will study nine virtues and become aware of needs vs. wants, what is ours and what belongs to God, and what is the true source of human happiness. (Children under 5 years of age will have to stay with their parents; there is no preschool program.)

June 6 (One Day Program) Reflections on Race Unity: Sharing Learnings from the Grassroots with Negin Toosi and Lev Rickards

Though the reality of the soul transcends race our spiritual journey on this plane is shaped by racialized experiences. During this weekend we will examine findings from social science, the Baha'i Writings, and stories from our own communities, including children’s classes and junior youth activities, to better understand how we can build and maintain unity in our neighborhoods. (Please note that this is a one day program, Saturday only. Overnight stays are available at $33/adult, shared room. Please phone or email if you have questions.)

June 12-14 Teaching Christians with Russell Ballew

A dynamic course using a full range of learning modalities from engaging lectures to participatory consultation, this course will equip participants with the necessary skills and insights to carry on more efficacious conversations with their Christian friends and family about the Bahá'í Faith. Participants will become more effective as teachers by both studying the processes used by Christ and Bahá'u'lláh for teaching and by understanding the major themes found in the Bible and the Bahá'í Writings.

June 19 - 21 Spiritual Education and the Institute Process with Dwight Allen

In this weekend seminar we will explore the multiple dimensions of spiritual education. We will focus first of all on how little we really know about its full potential in the golden age of our Faith. Secondly, we will explore some of the many dimensions of spiritual education and how we can try to incorporate these principles in our personal lives. We will also seek to better understand the importance of our current participation in the institute process, and how that process can give us new perspectives on the future development of spiritual education.

The New Staff Housing

The focus on interior work continues. Projected date for staff to move in is still June 15th.

The Chalet Cottages will Return...

It was sad to see the three historic cottages being torn down, but they were structurally unsound and could not be saved. They will be replaced with three cottages looking the same from the front, but larger, and on full foundations, suitable for year-round use. One will be a library and archives building, one will be a youth center, and the other will be the administrative office building. The projected completion date is March 2010. Below you can see the three foundations of the new cottages.

The New Guest Housing

Foundation work is also underway for the new guest housing, to be ready for use in the spring of 2010.

"National winter and summer schools, as well as deepening classes at the local level, are an integral aspect of community life in which the friends come together to deepen their knowledge of the Faith. Institutes were created as an instrument to develop the human resources necessary for the expansion and consolidation of the Faith. These two elements are complementary, and benefit from each other as they both flourish."

Letter dated 18 June 2001 on behalf of the Universal House of Justice, to the National Spiritual Assembly of Finland, quoted in Turning Point, p. 274.
