March & April Programs

March 6 - 8

College Student Spiritual Retreat

with Nina Dini & Courtney Gusick

“There are various stages and stations for the Fast and innumerable effects and benefits are concealed therein. Well is it with those who have attained unto them.” (Baha'u'llah) The participants will explore the Sacred Writings about the wisdom of Baha’i fasting and the power of prayer and meditation in our daily lives. Together we will explore what we really know about “the two pillars that sustain the revealed Law of God…“ What we really believe about the fasting period and the power of prayer to refresh and reinvigorate the spiritual forces latent in our soul. We will explore and draw inspiration from the lives and examples of the heroes and heroines of our beloved Faith, who, armed with the power of prayer, were able to overcome fear and build confidence as teachers of the Cause of God.

"Distinguish your Service to the Peoples of the World..."

with Rabi Musah

We are called by the Universal House of Justice to ... “Free our thoughts and actions of any trace of prejudice…” “…demonstrate the rectitude of conduct to which the writings of the Faith call every soul…” in order to successfully “…struggle against the myriad forms of corruption … eating at the vitals of society” and to “…perceive honour and nobility in every human being …” and “…champion the cause of justice.” The primary mission of the Baha'i Faith is the establishment of a Divine Civilization. This course will examine the spiritual machinery and other tools with which the Baha’is must be equipped in order to bring into operation the New World Order.

"National winter and summer schools, as well as deepening classes at the local level, are an integral aspect of community life in which the friends come together to deepen their knowledge of the Faith. Institutes were created as an instrument to develop the human resources necessary for the expansion and consolidation of the Faith. These two elements are complementary, and benefit from each other as they both flourish."

Letter dated 18 June 2001 on behalf of the Universal House of Justice, to the National Spiritual Assembly of Finland, quoted in Turning Point, p. 274.

Registration FAQs

1. When I register, the program charges my credit card the full amount, when I only want to pay the 25% deposit. What should I do?

A: On the online Cvent payment page, there is a section called

and in that section, there is a section that states the amount "ordered" (full amount) and then the "Amount Applied".

You can change the Amt Applied to be the minimum deposit required. You'll find that amount given in the same section of the webpage, on the left, and it will look like this, though the amount will be based on your total:

You can simply change the amount in the "Amt Applied" box, by putting your cursor there and replacing the full amount by the smaller amount.

You must then click on the Update button in that same section

and then you will be asked to fill in your credit card information in the next page section. You will only be charged the amount you filled in, which must be the minimum due, in order to hold your reservation.

2. How do I get myself or my child on the waiting list for a program that is full?

A: At this time, the cvent software does not create waiting lists. Please email greenacre@usbnc.org to request being added to the waiting list. Include how many adults and children, with ages and grades, you would like to add, and please give us your contact information.

3. Is there still a 50% discount for first-timers? How is a first-timer defined?

A: Yes, there is a 50% discount for first timers, defined as never having been a registered participant in a session at Green Acre, but you will have to email us to request this, as the cvent software does not offer this option. In the online registration process, please pay only the minimum amount required, then email us (after you have registered), and we will make the adjustment to your registration charges once we receive your email. You will then be emailed a new registration confirmation.
