Violence against women

I am not a member of your faith organization but it certainly is good to see any group taking action against one of society's problems. Violence against women is a stain on man's history on this planet. I applaud you for your efforts and I hope you continue to make a difference.

violence against women

Hi Ben, Thank you so much for posting here. In 1997, the National Spiritual Assembly of the United States published a flyer called "Two Wings of a Bird: The Equality of Women and Men" Your comment here made me think that you have already done one of the prerequisites for reducing violence and moving towards equality. "It is essential that men engage in a careful, deliberate examination of attitudes, feelings and behavior deeply rooted in cultural habit that block the equal participation of women and stifle the growth of men. The willingness of men to take responsibility for equality will create an optimum environment for progress:'When men own the equality of women there will be no need for them to struggle for their rights!' - Abdu'l Baha" Thank you for being part of the solution!

Baha'i asked to speak to employees at World Bank, IMF and IADB

What the previous poster did not share is that he has been invited to speak to employees at the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Inter-American Development Bank on October 14 along with other panelists to address issues of Domestic Violence. Mike hosts a discussion group "A Call to Men" to address these issues. I had the honor of facilitating a Virtues Project workshop coordinated by Mike this summer and want to applaud his excellence and lend him courage for the presentation. You can read an editorial by Mike that takes a recent, negative media event and uses it as an opportunity to educate men on how to stand up to everyday exploitation of women here: http://www.oleantimesherald.com/articles/2009/09/22/editorial/doc4ab8fc1e807a2703268844.txt (remember to copy and paste the entire URL if the link does not work properly)
