As Christmas season went into full swing this year, Glen Fullmer’s 7-year-old son came home from school with an assignment: Make a poster illustrating his family holiday traditions.
Every year we’re asked, "How do Baha’is handle the winter holidays?" "When is the Baha’i gift-giving season?" "How do Baha’is view Christ?"
This year we spoke with Veda Mosavi, a Baha’i from Calif. who was raised by a Persian Baha’i father and a mother from a Baptist background, who became a Baha’i when Veda was young.
Holiday Reinhorn, (fiction writer and wife of actor Rainn Wilson), was asked about the Baha’i Faith during a recent interview on ABC News Radio.
Return to Baha’i Temple Home Page
The Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette, Ill., is one of 80 Chicago-area landmarks displayed in miniature at the Wonderland Express at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Ill. On display Nov. 27 through Jan. 3, the 10,000-square-foot exhibit features miniature trains that wend their way around landmarks and waterfalls by way of bridges and trestles.
All the miniature landmarks are individually crafted from natural materials. The replica of the Baha’i temple took three weeks to create and is made entirely of plant materials including lichen and banana stems; the dome is made of a calabash gourd.
Acceptance of the ethical dimension of climate change has risen to a new level of importance in discussions at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, say members of the Baha’i delegation.
